Partnerships

The Virginia Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation Center (VMASC) encourages partnerships and outreach throughout the Hampton Roads community, region, and the nation’s highly connected industry ecosystem. As a part of Old Dominion University (ODU), the nation’s first university to offer degrees in M&S, VMASC also encourages digital innovation through revolutionary model and design thinking approaches in the simulation science field.

INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP

Through initiative-driven development, VMASC pioneers information-to-insight solutions to advance the nation’s highly-connected industry ecosystem.

Over 20 years and counting, VMASC continues to curate strong relationships across various industries and pursues new partnerships and multiorganizational collaborations. As both an academic center of excellence and a secure, applied research center, we have the capabilities to provide long-term support, as well as solutions to address the needs of our partners.

Past projects have included public, private, and hybrid collaborations with government, nonprofit organizations, and private groups across healthcare, defense, finance, and manufacturing industries. Through VMASC’s information-to-insight pipeline, our research faculty and staff and project scientists use data analytics to generate immediate value, solve complex problems, develop new methodologies, maximize efficiency, and drive innovation and growth.

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP

By collaborating with the Hampton Roads community and region, VMASC drives inclusive, digital transformation to support the success of our community’s workforce and outreach programs.

A key piece of VMASC’s mission is to provide our expertise and technological resources to organizations in the Hampton Roads community to encourage regional growth development. Our research faculty, staff, and project scientists work with local governments, non-government organizations (NGOs), and community leaders to create a dialogue for accessible digital transformation. Our innovative work, performed in conjunction with these groups, influences the way communities across Virginia address their individual issues, such as environmental health and healthcare wellness.

VMASC also invests long-term support of advanced workforces and job security for working Virginians. As technology evolves, we believe that the skills to maintain and enhance such tools and applications evolve as well; therefore, we collaborate with local schools and employers throughout the region to develop modernization training and STEM education programs and initiatives.
